Sixth-grader ready to raise money to battle her illnessBy CONNIE GOFFconnie_bj@hotmail.comForum ReporterHailey Roush, a sixth-grade student at Maryville Middle School, appears to be a very active 12-year-old girl.She participates in many activities, including basketball and softball. Looks can be deceiving. In December 2003, Hailey was diagnosed with and 2-3 p.m. — at Bearcat Lanes. All proceeds from the bowl-a-thon will go toward research done by the foundation."Hailey is very active in raising money for CCFA," said Hailey's mother, Marcy Roush. "She realizes that she has to live with this condition on a day-to-day basis. She decided to become pro-active instead of inactive. She gets a lot of support from her friends, family and the entire community."Because the foundation provides knowledge from research that can possibly help Hailey's condition, she wants to raise as much money as she can for the organization.Roush participated in the "Heel to Heal" 5K Walk/Run in Kansas City, Mo., last year.
